Hi there!

I'm Lachlan, a 🇦🇺 Sydney based programmer and network tinkerer!

I am a 5th year student at UNSW studying a double Bachelor of Computer Science and Commerce.

My joruney with technology started with collecting domain names, with my first domain (lacln.com) being registered on New Years Day 2019 - before I started year 10 of High School.
To run this website, I started by learning HTML, CSS and PHP using online tutorials, though has now led me to pursue an understanding of many different technologies, including python with Flask, Cloud Computing, IoT and CICD processes.

The inspiration for this website (in its current form) comes from many different sites and experiences. The general look and feel of the site comes from the "synthwave" era of websites, with dark colours with vibrant coloured lines. I felt there was something missing from the navigation bar, however after a recent trip to Melbourne, AUS; I was unusually entranced by the tooltips given on train information screens. The subtle messaging gave a feeling of comfort which I have tried to replicate in my site, with the "Visiting" tooltip making obvious the current site.
